I grew up in East Tennessee, and Dolly was a ingrained part of our lives. She is the Patron Saint of the Appalachians. She takes care of her people. A true Christian and humanitarian. Every summer our family would go to Dollywood Theme Park to ride the log flume, eat funnel cake and see her gowns on display in the museum. No wonder I love rhinestones so much!! Also, did you know the butterfly is Dolly’s favorite symbol? There is always a beautiful hill of flowers arranged in the shape of a big butterfly when you enter her park in Pigeon Forge. Dolly always says in interviews that she idled the town “tramp” when she was a girl. Her big blonde hair and long red nails. Well…Dolly, I idled you! You were the eyeful I needed as a little girl.
Dolly is embellished with Czech crystal, acrylic and glass beads, trims and sequin. The background is layered with decorative paper, and wallpaper scraps. The bow in her big sparkly blonde hair is painted grosgrain ribbon sprinkled with loads of diamond dust glitter.
